Word of the Day: Jama

Jama is Costa Rican for 'food'. Of course, the standard comida also works, but ticos will often informally refer to food as jama.

Mothers will yell to their kids:

¡Está la jama! (Food's on the table!)

Ticos will sometimes, but not as often, use the verb jamar instead of comer.
